Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July 18, 2026
These terms are a contract between you and Innovai Labs s.r.o. about Peek, a macOS app. We have tried to keep them short and readable. If anything is unclear, write to us at support@peeknotch.com — we answer.
1. Who we are
Innovai Labs s.r.o.
Plzeňská 3352/156, Smíchov, 150 00 Praha 5, Czech Republic
Company ID (IČO): 23603194
Registered in the Commercial Register [To confirm: registration court and file number]
Contact: support@peeknotch.com
We are referred to as “Innovai Labs”, “we”, or “us”. “Peek” means the Peek macOS application, its updates, and the backend services that power trials and licensing.
2. What Peek is
Peek is a paid utility for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. It turns the MacBook notch (or a floating pill on Macs without one) into a compact control surface for music, a focus timer, Apple Reminders, and an AI quick prompt. Peek is distributed as a direct download from our website, not through the Mac App Store, and it keeps itself up to date through a built-in update mechanism.
By downloading, installing, or using Peek you agree to these terms.
3. Your license
When you buy Peek, you are buying a license to use it — not the software itself, which stays ours (see Section 12).
- The license is personal: it is for you, on Macs that you own or primarily use, on up to 2 Macs at the same time.
- The license is non-exclusive and non-transferable, and it may not be resold, rented, or shared.
- Lifetime license: a one-time payment. No recurring fees. It includes every update we release for Peek for as long as we develop it, and your right to use the versions you have already received does not expire.
4. Free trial
You can try everything in Peek free for 24 hours — no account, no card, no email address. The trial starts when you first run the app. To keep the trial honest, Peek checks in with our server using an anonymous device identifier (a one-way cryptographic hash — see the Privacy Policy); reinstalling the app or rolling back your clock does not restart the trial. When the trial ends, Peek locks until you buy a license. Nothing is charged automatically — there is nothing on file to charge.
5. Prices, payment, and taxes
Current prices are shown on our website: a one-time payment for the lifetime license. Prices are listed in USD or EUR depending on your location.
Purchases are sold through Link, Stripe’s merchant of record service: Stripe charges you, collects and remits any applicable VAT, sales tax, or similar taxes, and emails your receipt and tax invoice. The checkout shows the final amount before you confirm, and Link’s own terms apply to the payment itself. We never see or store your card number.
Obvious pricing errors do not bind us; if we catch one before delivery we will tell you and offer the correct price or a cancellation.
6. Delivery and activation
Peek is delivered digitally, immediately after payment:
- the copy of Peek you already downloaded unlocks automatically after checkout, and
- your license key is emailed to the address you used at checkout, so you can activate your second Mac and recover your license later.
Keep that email — the address you used is also how we find your purchase when you need help.
7. Refunds and the EU right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA: you normally have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts. Because Peek is digital content that is delivered immediately, the checkout asks for your express consent to immediate delivery, and Stripe applies the withdrawal and cooling-off rules that apply where you live as part of Link’s checkout terms.
Beyond your statutory rights, refunds are handled case by case — if something went wrong with your purchase, write to support@peeknotch.com and we will find a fair solution. A refund may be issued by us or by Stripe under its consumer policies; either way it goes back to the original payment method, the associated license is revoked, and Peek locks again.
Your statutory rights in case of faulty digital content (Section 9) are separate and are not limited by this section.
8. Updates
Peek checks for updates and installs them through its built-in updater. We recommend leaving updates on: they carry fixes, security patches, and improvements. For consumers in the EU, we provide the updates needed to keep Peek working as described (in legal terms, to keep it “in conformity”) for the period required by law. If you skip updates we tell you about, we are not responsible for problems caused solely by the missing update.
9. If something is wrong with Peek
If Peek does not work as described, you have the remedies your local consumer law gives you — in the EU, that includes having the defect fixed, a price reduction, or a refund, and these rights last for at least two years from delivery. Nothing in these terms limits them.
The fastest path is almost always writing to support@peeknotch.com — most problems are fixed in an update.
10. Fair use of Peek
You agree not to:
- circumvent, disable, or tamper with the trial, licensing, or update mechanisms;
- share, publish, or resell license keys;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or modify Peek, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits it despite this clause;
- use Peek in any unlawful way.
Peek controls other apps on your Mac (music players, Reminders) only through official Apple mechanisms and the permissions you grant in macOS. Your use of those apps and services remains subject to their own terms.
11. Your API key and third-party services
Peek’s AI quick prompt works with your own API key from an AI provider of your choice. The key is stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac, and your prompts travel directly from your Mac to your chosen provider — they never pass through our servers. Your relationship with that provider — including their terms, their privacy practices, and any usage fees they charge — is between you and them.
Some Peek features depend on third-party software being installed (for example, a supported music player) and on macOS permissions you can grant or revoke at any time.
12. Intellectual property
Peek, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Innovai Labs s.r.o. and protected by copyright and other laws. These terms give you the license described in Section 3 and nothing more. Peek includes open-source components, which are licensed under their own terms. [To confirm: where open-source acknowledgements are shown]
13. Liability
If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms do not limit — including our full liability for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for death or personal injury, and in any other case where the law does not allow liability to be limited.
Beyond what the law requires, our liability for damage connected to Peek is limited to the amount you paid us for Peek in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Peek is a productivity utility; it is not designed for use in situations where a malfunction could cause serious harm, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost data that we could not reasonably foresee.
14. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Peek at any time; deleting the app is enough. We may terminate your license if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms (for example, by distributing license keys) — where the breach can be fixed, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix it. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Sections 11–13 and 16) survive termination.
15. Changes to Peek and to these terms
Peek evolves: features are added, changed, and occasionally removed. We will not materially strip the product you paid for of its core functionality.
We may update these terms — for example, when features, laws, or our business change. For material changes we will give notice (on the website and, where we can, by email or in the app) at least 14 days before they take effect. If you do not agree with a material change, you may terminate the agreement before it takes effect; using Peek after that date means you accept the updated terms. The version of the terms current at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer, you additionally keep the protection of any mandatory consumer-law rules of the country where you live, and you can bring or defend claims in the courts of that country where the law provides for it.
Talk to us first: nearly every issue is resolved faster by emailing support@peeknotch.com than by any formal process.
If we cannot resolve a dispute together and you are a consumer, you can use out-of-court dispute resolution. In the Czech Republic the competent body is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), Štěpánská 796/44, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic — coi.gov.cz. Consumers from other EU countries can also contact their local European Consumer Centre for help with cross-border complaints.
